Reader Submission: Ghost Dog

black dog

“My husband and I bought our first house in 1993. We moved from Bernardsville, NJ to Phillipsburg, NJ. The house in Phillipsburg was built in 1905 or somewhere around that time frame. Our kitchen was an add-on; it was not part of the house when it was first built.

A few years later, my husband and I had a pool put in. We were always finding things buried in our yard, from marbles to parts of a doll. My husband told me that way back when people used to bury their garbage. We also had three dogs at this point, a Westie, a Yorkie mix, and an Australian Terrier. Reader Submission: The Red-Eyed Dog

creepy dog

“I woke up one night to see a dog with red eyes looking at me. He wasn’t growling or anything, just staring. I glared and went to sleep only to hear ‘Wake up! I’m home. It’s your time to work.’ I didn’t know what it meant so I got up and went into the kitchen and made tea for myself.

Reader Submission: The Loyal Ghost Dog

puppy

“My dog passed away two months ago. I am still sad to this day, but something unusual has been happening lately. Whenever I’m home alone, I hear the noises he used to make when he was alive. I hear his footsteps, breathing, and the noises he makes when he eats. I was filled with tears at first, but also joy, knowing that my dog hasn’t left my side just yet. I told my mom the other day, and she said she also hears the noises when she’s here. I am glad to know he is still here, watching over me. I can’t wait to see him once again at the rainbow bridge.”
