Taken at the historic House of the Seven Gables mansion, this eerie pic shows what appears to be a boy rising from the brush. Built in 1668, the home once belonged to author Nathaniel Hawthorne’s kin and was the inspiration for his famous novel, The House of the Seven Gables. Hawthorne grew up nearby and reportedly played at the mansion as a boy. Is that his spirit in the bushes? Or does it belong to his son Julian, as some speculate?
