Ghost Photo of the Day: The Roman Soldier

ghost photo west yorkshire

In 2007, an amateur filmmaker in West Yorkshire, England filmed what appeared to be the ghost of a Roman soldier on a scenic footpath. Oddly, he didn’t see anything unusual at the time of recording and only noticed the apparition after reviewing his footage. In fact, the video (below) shows several runners jogging obliviously through the “spirit,” causing skeptics to claim the ghost is nothing more than sunlight filtering through the trees. However, the filmmaker, George Gunn, isn’t so sure.

“I’ve had the camera for quite a while now, and I have never had any problems with lighting or sun glare or anything like that,” he told BBC News. “There is something peculiar about it.”

Ghost Photo of the Day: A Slave Named Chloe

chloe myrtles plantation

Taken at the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francsiville, LA, this photo reportedly shows the spirit of a former slave named Chloe. Legend has it Chloe poisoned her master’s daughters and now haunts the plantation with her two young victims. A couple of problems, though: there’s no record of a Chloe at the Myrtles Plantation, and the daughters in question weren’t poisoned. One died of yellow fever, and the other lived well into adulthood. What do you think of the image?
