The world is full of creepy legends, and each country has its horrors. “This is a story about the nursing home where I’ve been working for a little over two years. I’ve heard coworkers say they’ve had paranormal experiences in our workplace, but until a week ago I had not.
I just recently received my CNA license and work at a nursing home in Sioux Falls, SD. I now work mainly night shifts starting at 11 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m. I prefer these shifts because they tend to be fairly quiet and uneventful. I usually work with two RNs and two to three other CNAs.
Last week, my shift started as usual with the residents in bed and the crew chatting. A few hours passed, and we answered some call lights here and there, but I was getting bored. I then noticed a call light at the end of the main hall. It was ‘my turn,’ so I called out before starting my journey to the room at the end of the hall. I heard one of my coworkers say something as I was walking away, but I didn’t catch it so I continued on.
“My little brother committed suicide on June 13th, 2015. It was a very sad and very hard time for me. We were living together, and I was trying to help him get on his feet, but it was obviously no help.
On Sept 13th, 2015, I woke up at midnight to go to the bathroom. I heard tapping on the door and the handle jiggled. I figured it was my wife trying to come in, so I opened the door but no one was there. I went to the room, and she was sound asleep. I ignored it and passed out.
The next day, I moved to a different town with my parents. That night I went to bed at midnight and fell asleep. I woke up to my bed shaking. Every time I fell asleep, my bed would vibrate or shake. I eventually passed out one hour before my alarm went off for work.
“This happened when I was around 14 years old, and it still keeps me awake at night.
I’m from India. We had just moved to our new house in Delhi, and my mom was out shopping and my father and younger sister were in the kitchen cooking dinner. My elder brother and I were in the study room and were sitting facing each other with a lamp between us. It was a rainy day, so there was a power cut. Our father asked us to finish our homework before dinner, however we were chatting and giggling in a very low voice so that our father could not hear us.
All of the sudden, I realized that my father was coming to the study room. It was dark so I could only see a black figure coming towards study room. I whispered to my brother, ‘Shh, Shh. Papa is coming.’ He turned around and saw the shadow too, so we both started staring at our books. After a second, I saw my father enter the room from the corner of my eye and he was walking in a weird. He was facing us and walking sideways close to the wall. I looked up and smiled at him, and only then did I see his big, red eyes and twisted hands. Within a second it disappeared in the corner of the study room.
I was shocked and I shouted to my brother who was still pretending to study. He turned back again, saw that my father wasn’t there, and started running towards the kitchen. I followed him. We were both terrified and told our father there was ghost in the study room. He didn’t believe us, but we knew something was there.”
