Reader Submission: The Haunted Bedroom
“I rent an apartment and the apartment is located on the first floor so there’s a neighbor on the second floor and another neighbor located to the left on the first floor. The creepy part of my apartment is the bedroom.
One day when I was 5 years old and bored, my mom was in the kitchen and my dad was working outside on a friend’s car. I disliked my newborn brother for a variety of reasons, so I decided to bother him while he was sleeping.
I gently opened the bedroom door and saw heavy duty boot footprints on the carpet. Now, my dad would NEVER walk around the house with his shoes on. Neither would my mom or I. The even creepier part is that the footprints lead from the wall on the right, around my parents’ bed, to the wall on the left side of the bed and then stopped. They did not lead back out. When I was about to leave the room, the footsteps disappeared like they had never existed. I ran out the door.
Six years later, I invited my best friend over to the apartment. We went to the bedroom, and everything was normal with me showing her my latest drawings. I eventually left the room to help my mom, and one second later my best friend screamed, ‘Anna!!! Don’t leave me here!!!!’ I ran back and saw my terrified friend sitting up against the wall, hugging her knees.
I still haven’t figured out what’s in the bedroom that makes it creepy as hell, but there’s definitely something there.”
