Reader Submission: The Haunted Dresser
“My daughter is a student at Ohio Wesleyan University (OWU). She has her own room along with three other girls who also have their own room. They all share one bathroom. This is a story she told me.
Several times, one of the girls thought she had locked herself out of her room because she couldn’t get inside. Each time, they discovered that her dresser had moved slightly in front of the door, blocking the entrance. They had to push on the door enough for the girl to get inside and move the dresser. That student has since left OWU.
After the student left, my daughter and the other roommate thought they could use the vacant room as a guest room, but the RA wouldn’t allow it. According to my daughter, the RA tried to get into the room with his key but couldn’t. They called a locksmith who came and tried to open the door. Once again, the dresser was against the door on the other side, blocking the entrance.
At first, I thought it was a prank. I figured someone had climbed through the window and moved the dresser in front of the door. The only problem with that theory is that this dorm room is on the third floor. Who, or what, moved that dresser remains a mystery.”
