Ghost Photo: The Face at the Window

ghost photo A reader writes:

“I took a few photos of my friend’s garden in his backyard on a sunny July afternoon in northeast Minneapolis. When I was looking at the pics a few days later, I noticed something strange in the upper right corner of the middle window. It looks like the face of a man peering down at me!

There was no one was in the house at the time. The image could very well be a reflection, but I really don’t think so. I tried to reproduce the pic a few weeks later. I stood in the same place, at the same time of day, with similar weather conditions, and I didn’t get the same results. The house was built in 1905, and the original homeowner died on the second floor in the mid 1920’s. He was in his late 50’s. I have seen photos of the original homeowner, and I believe the image in the window is him.

I believe that my friend’s house is very haunted! We’ve had many unexplained experiences both inside and outside the home, including full body apparitions, disembodied voices, and being touched and pinched. We’ve also had clothing tugged, noticed weird smells like sulfur, felt someone sitting down next to us when no one was there, felt watched, had our hair pulled and played with, and saw things moving, not to mention all the other creepy photos that have been taken at the property only to disappear from the camera or phone. Something usually happens within 15 minutes of being there. I don’t go over at night anymore. It can get kinda scary!”

What do you think of the image? Reflection or ghost?

Truth or Legend? A Mother’s Ghost Saves Her Son

haunted highway
In the wee hours of June 10, 1994, Deborah Hoyt awoke with a start. She was staying with her husband at a relative’s home in Sacramento, CA, but felt she must leave immediately. The winding mountain road between Sacramento and the Hoyts’ own home in Lake Tahoe made Deborah uneasy, especially at night, but the urge to leave was overwhelming.

“I just felt like there was something pulling me up the mountain,” Hoyt said in an appearance on Paranormal Witness.

At a section of Highway 50 known as Bullion Bend, near Placerville, Deborah spotted a nude woman lying near the shoulder of the road. The woman was positioned on her side, bent legs together with an arm over her head. She was ghastly pale and looked dead.

Horrified, Deborah and her husband drove to the nearest phone and called the police. Sheriff’s deputy Rich Strasser arrived at the scene, but found no trace of a woman, nude or otherwise.

Ghost Photo: White Knights?

ghost picture

The U.K.’s Mirror shared this photo on Halloween. It seems a father snapped a photo of his daughter at Tamworth Castle Grounds in Staffordshire, England and captured two ghosts in the background.

“I can’t quite make out what they are, but it looks to me like two figures,” said Richard Jones, 38. “It could be two knights carrying a shield – which would make sense as it was by the castle. What’s so strange to me is that there is absolutely no color – it’s all white.”

Like most castles, Tamworth has its share of ghost stories. Legend has it a 9th-century nun haunts the historic structure, while tales of disembodied footsteps, swirling mists, and mysterious figures are also common.

What do you think appears in the photo above?

Q & A with Randy Russell, Author of “The Ghost Will See You Now: Haunted Hospitals of the South”

The_Ghost_Will_See_You_NowIn October, author Randy Russell released his fifth paranormal-themed book, The Ghost Will See You Now: Haunted Hospitals of the South. In this chilling volume, Russell shares over 40 true ghost stories based in the South’s most haunted hospitals and asylums, including the ghostly flapper of Asheville’s Highland Hospital and the casket girls of New Orleans’ Ursuline Convent Hospital. You can find The Ghost Will See You Now at BlairPub.com, Amazon.com or other online retailers.

I recently had the chance to ask Randy a few questions about his latest book and his paranormal philosophy in general. Here’s what he had to say…

How did you research the stories for the book?

Researching historical happenstance associated with the creation of a ghost and the continuation of ghostly hauntings at old hospitals, abandoned asylums, and other medical facilities across the South began for me in seeking a very basic understanding of a true ghost experience to begin with. Any understanding of a ghost starts with understanding what an individual experiences during an encounter with a ghost.
