Ghost Photo: Pub Phantom

A ghostly being or a hoodie-wearing hoodlum? This video comes from the Ye Olde Man & Scythe in Bolton, England.

Dating back to 1251, the business is Britain’s fourth oldest pub and reportedly home to a few spirits including a ghostly child, a phantom dog, and James Stanley, the Seventh Earl of Derby. On February 14, 2014, the manager of Ye Olde Man & Scythe discovered the CCTV had stopped working overnight and reviewed the footage to see why.

“We checked the footage and it revealed this figure,” manager Tony Dooley told the Manchester Daily News. “I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to ghosts but you become a believer when you see things like that.”

UPDATE: HERE’S AN EMAIL I RECEIVED FROM MANAGER TONY DOOLEY

“Man and scythe manager here. It was not a burglar. In my own words….

On Thursday 13th Feb 2014 I closed locked and chained up the doors from the inside. I swept and tidied the bar. Turned off the lights. I went upstairs and put the alarm on. I went to bed. I awoke at around 0615 on Friday 14th Feb 2014 to a noise In the pub. After disabling the alarm I went downstairs. Upon coming into the pub I turned on the lights. At that point I found a fosters glass broken and no where near where it should be. Then I checked the doors and windows. No disturbances found. I then checked the CCTV. After viewing it a few times I gave it to my boss.

Also to set the record straight.

There’s no road facing the pub. There’s no curtains in the pub.
There’s no lighting left in except emergency lights which are a legal requirement.”

“Here is a true experience I’d like to share with you. This happened when I was 17 years old.

My family and I moved to a very old rental home. The first six months were okay, but as the days passed, strange things started happening. My mother always used to say that she saw someone moving around the house.

Once, a very horrifying thing happened to me. I remember that my brother-in-law came for dinner one night. We used to have a maid that stayed with us. We were all having dinner at the table, and our maid was having dinner sitting on the floor. We all saw her having dinner on the floor. Suddenly, the maid was standing near our main door. We all got frightened as one girl cannot be at the two places at the same time. After a minute, she disappeared from the main door. My father said that maybe it was our imaginations.

Ghost Photo: Catfish Planation Spirit

ghost womanThis photo comes from the Catfish Plantation restaurant in Waxahacie, TX. Built in 1895, the restaurant is a former Victorian reportedly haunted by several spirits. Strange activity in the business includes levitating objects, eerie blue lights, and a ghostly bride that stares forlornly out the window. Is that her in the pic?

Ghost Photo: Anna’s Apparition?

These photos were taken in Savannah’s infamously haunted 17Hundred90 Inn, Room 204. According to the source behind this pic, Savannah ITC, the photos were shot using natural light, on a tripod, with the camera set to a continuous shooting mode of one frame per second. As you can see, a female figure appears in the first pic but is gone in the second pic taken only a second later.

Legend has it a woman named Anna Powers haunts her old room at the inn. I stayed there in September 2012, but saw, heard, and sensed nothing. Do you think the first pic shows a ghost?
