Ghost Photo of the Day: Myrtles Mirror Ghost

ghost pic myrtles plantation

Here’s another eerie pic from the infamous Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, LA. A reader writes:

“In November 2012, I visited the Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville and snapped a picture of a mirror next to a staircase in the house.

If you look closely, there’s a series of smudges in the mirror that very closely resemble a woman’s face. The smudges were present on the mirror when I took the picture, but when I looked back at the picture later the next day, the face became very apparent to me. Now I can’t unsee it.

What’s your opinion? This was taken with my iPhone, with no outside light and no editing.”

The antique mirror has quite the reputation. Legend has it a slave named Chloe poisoned her master’s wife and daughters and that the murdered family now appears in the mirror’s glass. Some say the tortured souls also leave hand prints that no amount of cleaning can remove.

Do you see a face in the photo posted above? The face (or smudges/warps) in the glass also appear in this picture.

True Ghost Stories Collected from Family and Friends, Part II

Yesterday, I found the notebook! In my first post, I shared a few stories from my younger brothers. Here’s a collection of tales from my quirky friend D. who never has a shortage of ghost tales. In fact, the Darth Vader tale comes from her. Love you, D!

Ghost Photo of the Day: Unexpected Guest

ghost reflection

A reader recently submitted this photo. He writes:

“My daughter was taking a picture of the holiday spread, her reflection is the one on the left. The image on the right shows someone sitting in the chair but you can see the chair is pushed in. Everyone else is sitting in the living room.

My wife got a premonition of someone dying in the house when we were looking at buying the place. Went out to garage and found hospital bed. Then the realtor found out later that the owner’s wife had passed away in the house.”

So what does everyone think?

I’ve always been interested in true ghost stories, and back in the pre-Internet days of yore I interviewed family and friends and wrote their experiences down in a notebook. Today, I found the notebook! Here are the first tales I collected nearly 20 years ago: one from me and four from my younger brothers. Enjoy!
