Ghost Photo: Asylum Apparition

picture of ghost

Does this photo show the ghost of a former asylum patient?

Located in Bronllys, Wales, the 113-year-old Brecon and Radnor Lunatic Asylum once housed mentally ill patients who endured everything from excruciating lobotomies to imprisonment in padded cells. The asylum was eventually converted into a prison and served as a Prisoner of War camp in World War II. Abandoned for 16 years, it now sits in crumbling isolation. A man strolling by the abandoned facility took this eerie photo.

“Maybe it was a patient who had a lobotomy or perhaps a soldier patient from the war or maybe a Nazi prisoner,” the Mirror reports the witness as saying. “Whatever it was, it certainly gave me a fright.”

What do you make of the photo?

Ghost Video: Apparition at Haunted Pub?

ghost on camera english pub

Ghostly apparition or logical explanation? This video comes from the White Lion pub in Yateley, England.

According to pub manager Kate Staniszewska, the 159-year-old pub is home to many ghosts, including a female spirit that likes to make her presence known. In this video, a wispy, white figure manifests near the window before continuing up the stairs to the women’s bathroom.

“I live in the building, and so I can feel it when I pass the ghost,” Staniszewska told GetHampshire. “I’ve lived here six months and it’s happened a few times but this is the only place we have seen it.”

Of course, not everyone is convinced. Some skeptics say the video shows nothing more than smoke, while others wonder if someone has manipulated the footage to look ghostly. What do you believe?

Ghost Photo of the Day: Whaley House Head

whaley house ghost photo

Does this pic, taken at the 156-year-old Whaley House in San Diego, CA, show a ghost? Six members of the Whaley family died in the home, including a woman who committed suicide after her husband abandoned her on their honeymoon. Both Life magazine and the Travel Channel named the Whaley House the most haunted home in America. Are they on to something?
