Reader Submission: The Officer’s Warning

police car snow

“I’m still a state cop in Oregon, but I’ve been promoted to K-9 handler. One day, I had just pulled over a man for speeding, but as I walked up to his window I instantly got a bad feeling about him. So, I went back to my squad car.

Right when I got in, I felt a breeze and heard my passenger door shut. I looked up and saw a female officer no older than myself sitting in the passenger seat. I hadn’t called for backup, and when I looked around I didn’t see another squad car. There’s no way she could have walked over or been in the guy’s car without me noticing.

My dog Sargent was snapping and barking and growling at the woman, and the hair on his back was standing up. ‘Hello,’ I said. ‘Can I help you?’ She said ‘He has a gun by his seat.’ I turned to make sure the man was still in his vehicle, and when I looked back the officer was gone.

Reader Submission: A Guardian Angel

guardian angel story

“I was in a car wreck in 2011. Deer hit my car, and we tumbled and flipped over three times.

When we were flipping, I prepared myself for death. The feeling was so calm. It was like I didn’t even hear the people in the car screaming for help. It was like I was ok with what was happening. The feeling was too calm when everything was over.

I went home and thanked God for saving me and my family, and we all went to bed. At about 3 a.m., something woke me up. I looked out my room door and standing there was a tall, thin man. I screamed and he stood there for a second. I then realized it was my dad who died in 1984, and I asked what he wanted.

I was so scared I jumped up and turned on every light in the house. But he was gone. I know for a fact that my dad came to check on me that night. He was my angel while I was flipping in the car. I never saw him again, but I truly believe now.”

Real Firefighters Share True Ghost Stories

fireman flames

Here are five true ghost stories I collected from the popular firefighter forum, FireHouse.com. Enjoy!

A Guardian Angel
We were responding to a call in a dark, secluded, industrial area one night when the engine suddenly sputtered, stalled, and coasted to a stop right in front of a railroad crossing with no gates. Just as we stopped, a freight train came through. The engine started right up and ran fine after the train passed.

The second example happened one blazing hot summer afternoon when we were called to a highway construction site for a burning shanty. We pulled up and began advancing the handline when it suddenly seemed like the hose became tangled up in the hosebed. We went back to the engine to check, and just then the shanty blew up into thousands of tiny pieces. There were NO tangles in the hose, and it wasn’t caught or hung up anywhere.”

WWJD?
jesusAbout seven or eight years ago, we arrived at a townhouse with heavy fire from the first floor on side one. After making entry, locating the fire in the kitchen, and extinguishing, we set about taking out a few windows for ventilation.

After the smoke had risen, we noticed that the living area to the rear of the kitchen (which was on the right hand side as we entered) had taken significant smoke and heat damage. On the wall was a picture of Jesus Christ, and it was the only object in the room that appeared untouched. Even the wall BEHIND the picture was smoke-stained and blistered.

There was evidence of two streams of water that had trickled from the lower corners of the picture to a point in the middle of the wall where they met and continued down to the floor. The odd thing was that the line had been pulled through this room and was flowing into the kitchen to push the fire out the front, through a large vented window. No water had been flowing in the room, and the steam produced had been pushed out the window. Even the FM was amazed, and we haven’t seen anything like it since. It kinda makes one wonder.”
