Reader Submission: I Love You

“I was stationed at Fort Stewart, GA.  I lived in an apartment with my husband off post in Hinesville.

When we moved into the apartment, the bathroom had long, dark hairs in the tub and sink and a woman’s bra behind the door. We didn’t think anything of it, we just cleaned our new bathroom and set up house.

During the night, as we slept, the house was silent and there was no disturbance except a sudden chill around two in the morning, which was a little odd since it was a good 85 – 90 degrees outside. In the morning, there were again long, black hairs all over the bathroom. This happened a few days in a row.

“I woke up one night to see a dog with red eyes looking at me. He wasn’t growling or anything, just staring. I glared and went to sleep only to hear ‘Wake up! I’m home. It’s your time to work.’ I didn’t know what it meant so I got up and went into the kitchen and made tea for myself.

The next week I heard screaming and fighting and the growling of a dog. I walked into the hall and saw the same dog snarling and growling in my grandma’s bedroom. I didn’t think anything of it so I shut her door and walked into my room. I kind of just don’t mind him anymore. The dog is always with me. I gave up telling him to leave.
