Reader Submission: Stay or Go?

“I went with my aunt, uncle, and cousin to Yosemite National Park when I was 16. We camped, we hiked, we swam in Lake Tenaya. In between all that, one day I was out near the trees not far from where we were camped, when I sensed, and sort of saw, these Native American men ghosts smiling at me and making motions for me to go with them somewhere. I don’t know where. I had a choice before me: go with them, or stay in this world. Even though the ghosts never mentioned it, I had a very clear understanding that if I went, I would never come back. Knowing this, I chose to stay.
As we were leaving the park on our way back to the city, I looked out the window of the car and knew just by looking at the outside scenery that Yosemite National Park was haunted by a ton of spirits that came out after dark when all the people who visited in the summer went home for the cooler months. I could almost see them flying around in the night. Especially on a hill or mountain I saw in the distance. I wish I could say what kinds of ghosts they were, but it wasn’t clear.”
